How Social Media has changed my life

For many years now I have been a content creator on TikTok. Being involved in a Dungeons and Dragons crafting community drove me to want to do more.

Why I started TikTok

The day I started my TikTok wasn’t a typical day. I was afraid that I wouldn’t be around for my kids. I discovered I have a heart condition and didn’t know what would happen. I knew that if something happened to me, what would my kids remember of me? So, I created a TikTok channel on something we all enjoyed D&D. I craft for my family’s D&D games, so I chose that to create content about. I wanted my kids to hear and see me talking about and crafting the same pieces they would still have to remember me by.

How TikTok helped me decide to go back to school

After finding out, I would be okay, and my kids would still have me for many more years. I decided that creating content was a passion for me, leading me to the path of The Los Angeles Film School (LAFS). I have had so many trials and tribulations one thing that made me feel acknowledged was producing my content, so I wanted to improve. I started looking into video tutorials and equipment, but I still didn’t feel like I understood anything. That is when I found LAFS. Their excellent instructors and subject matter helped me to understand more about creating content. I now have a more significant skill set and understanding of the media world.

What’s next for me?

The next step in my care path is to focus on my work. I have put the TikTok channel down for a bit until I can get total health and focus on the content. In the meantime, I plan on finding work to help me grow my skills. One day when I return, I can create even better content. Content that the world can enjoy and be inspired by while providing my family with great memories and pride in me. So, what is next for me? Only time will tell, but it will be memorable.
